Agenda and schedule of the workshop and preparation
The workshop is expected to run for a half day (four hours). If possible, a dinner will be organized the evening
before the workshop. In the first part of the actual workshop we will begin with (very short!) keynotes by the
organizers as well as the invited expert, and all participants will be presenting briefly their position
statement (one slide presentation). This will take 1,5 hours. After a short break, we will turn into a hands-on
and discussion format (three sub-groups), applying various design methods for idea generation, structuring,
refinement and selection. Remember, the goal of this workshop is to explore and discuss methods and techniques
and formulate strong and weak points of these methods and techniques. This exercise will take 2 hours, and
finally we will end with a wrap up and conclusions (0,5 hour). The results will be thoroughly documented.
Workshop preparations consist of:
- Preparation of workshop website to share information, position papers, etc.
- Review of position papers (13 September 2009)
- Notification of acceptance (19 October 2009)
- Workshop dinner organization and first inventory of interests through a questionnaire (starting 19 October 2009)
- Workshop preparation (for the workshop itself)
- Workshop disseminations (to be decided during the workshop, at least a proceedings of the workshop, we will look at a paper or special issue journal on this topic). If so, accepted workshop authors will be asked to re-submit extended version of their papers. The call would also be open to the general public.
